I put that mandolin on Emando.com last time it sold on eBay. I don't know anything about it, but I can't say I find his acoustic 5-strings all that inspiring in appearance.

Sorta looks '60s-ish to my eyes, or else a deliberate retro copy. Feels like it would fit right in with a Monkees or Archies revival group. (Ouch, did I just picture that?) Very mod. AFAIK, a solid-body electric instrument can be made of anything; the sound is all in the pickup and electronics. You could literally use a 2x4 (which people have done.)
BTW: When copy/pasting eBay urls, you only need the data (letters/numbers) before the first question mark appears. Everything after the final digit of the identification can be cut off, like below ... this makes for shorter links. (I only figured this out recently.)

The forum software truncates long URLs for display, so it doesn't really matter. I suppose there is a bit of a "retro" look to these things, but that doesn't alter the facts: they're from the late '90s and are possibly the worst electric mandolins ever put into production. You'd be much better off with something that's actually from the '60s.

Like this '67 Gibson.

Nice looking back on this 1949 Gibson EM150
This one just ended. It's more of a mando-shaped guitar than a mando per se (6 strings tuned like a guitar, probably an octave higher) but I didn't know Gibson made these. I'm familiar with the Gold Tone guit-mando. Interesting piece.

Hmm. Good point, for some reason I thought it was electro-acoustic. I checked out the Beardsell website ... that is one heck of a luthier I must say! Some amazing stuff there (& way outta my league.) Quite a variation on the old Kay Kraft style design, too!
Nice looking Harmony Electric Mandolin H825 DeArmond Gold Foil Batwing Headstock with a BIN of just under $400!
Batwing went for best offer of $350.
I wonder how much of a best offer would be accepted for this listing of a Fender Mando-Strat 3-Color Sunburst 4-String Solid Body Electric Mandolin with an asking price of $250?
Another Harmony, an H425.

Has anyone here ever played a Dillion Electric 8 string Mandolin?
Here is a ROBERTS TINY MOORE MODEL 5 STRING ELECTRIC MANDOLIN SUNBURST CIRCA 1980's and listing says that less than 100 of these were made.

Here's a strange F-style axe with no sound holes, a piezo bridge and an Alvarez-Yairi logo on the headstock. There's a neck graft, so the headstock was probably stolen from a real Alvarez mandolin ... at least, I'm not aware of Alvarez ever building anything like this:
