    Unhappy

Would anyone know, and if so, be so kind as to tell me where I can get the sheet music, mando-tab, or ABC for the above tune.

    I have tried the search.

    With thanks,

    Epi.

I tried all my usual places to look. Couldn't find it. I gotta say, though, it's a pretty straightforward D tune. I just picked it out by ear from the David Surette recording. It was fun to learn. Sometimes those esoteric tunes with no sheet music or tab are a good chance to work on ear learning.

    Thank you Mando Johnny.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to learn it by ear, but was able to learn 'you are my sunshine' without any music at all.

It's a straight forward G or D or C or A tune, as you probably know.

I really like the esoteric tunes as well, num num.

    Best regards,

    Epi.

Well, I wish I were good at tabbing, I'd do it for you, but unfortunately it's not something I've ever gotten good at. Thanks for the heads up on that tune, though! I love it! I've been playing it every time I pick up the mandolin or the octave mandolin since you mentioned it.

I'm still getting used to the Lilypond software that I used to create the notation, so let me know if there are any glaring mistakes.

    Patrick:

That's great! There's a talent I wish I had. No glaring errors. Two minor things: There are two pick-up notes leading into the B part, 1/8 notes, a C# and D. Also, you have measures 13 and 14 as the same. I could be wrong, but I hear them as being slightly different. It sounds to me like measure 13 is all 1/4 notes, A-F#-G-F#, without that 1/8 note A. Then that 1/8 note A gets added, as you have it, on m14.

Listening to it again, you may well be right about bar 13/14. I transcribed the tune from David Surette's playing, and he plays it a little differently each time, so I just went for a sort of average version. As for the pickup notes leading into the B part: I only downloaded the software a couple of days ago, so I haven't got as far as learning how to put in different first and second repeats.

There are lots of extra little things I could have put in, but I thought I'd leave it fairly simple.

Thumbs up Re: Quickstep to the battle of prague

    UPDATE;

David Surette snail-mailed me the notation and tab, both for melody and harmony.

    Can you beat that!!

Already sent a private thank you, but here's a public one too, for generosity above and beyond the call:

    THANKS DAVE.!!

I finally got it down. Great tune. Sounds brilliant on the bouzouki....
