M Bickford's MC book is written in Universal Notation.
I transposed his duet in G to Bass Clef and also
    included a transposed version.
All threee parts will be attached.
You could play Bickford's version on the Octave Mandolin.
I will attached first the Bickford original
And the next post will be the transposed parts.

    Hi Bill:

Thanks for transposing the Bickford duets. I find the 2-octave transposed parts (Universal Notation for Mandocello) to be the hardest system to read -- perhaps that is lack of practice.

In a Mandolin Orchestra setting, the problem that I have with Universal is that if I blink at the wrong moment and start reading the part as Bass clef, I wind up playing a third above the written part. This usually sounds OK, at least for a while. Then something sounds strange. At that point, it's like de-bugging a program -- you know that the error was detected somewhere after the point where the fault really lies....
