John, Thank you for keep us all here posted. I saw footage on the news this AM and it was evident how quickly the fire spread. I am so very saddened by the news, but heartened by your great spirit. Please keep us informed so that we can do what we can to help that positive energy you relayed. My best wishes to you and your family.
Mick

Glad to hear you saved what was important. Everything else can be replaced. Sincere and best wishes.

Sorry to hear of your loss John; more important is that your family and self is safe.

Boy I am overwhealmed with all of you guys and gals thoughtfulness. Everyone in Boise has been very supportive too. My wife was buying some combs shampoo tooth brushes ect. today at the store and the cleark asked if she saw the fire. She told her "Yes" thats why I am buying all this stuff, don't even own a toothbrush any longer. The lady behind my wife over heard her and told the teller, "I will pay her bill" The kindness of people in times like these brings tears to your eyes. I did just find out this morning that my neighbor behind me lost his wife. He was looking for her and she was inside and the flame he said came over the ridge and it was bigger than his house and the house exploded. Poor guy, so sad! Thank you all for your support.

John,
My heart goes out to you.
To those of you that have already offered help, you are good people. I already knew that.
John, let us know what you need. We just might be able to come up with it. We certainly will try.
Paula
Our Hearts go out to you and your family John, keep the faith. We're all pulling for you. Let us know how we can help
John,
I'm praying for you and your family...so glad you all made it out safely...the other things you can replace in time, and the memories will still be there even without the reminders!

I don't know what to say John that hasn't already been said.
I know that the community support is amazing in your area.
There just wasn't enough time, it happened so fast. When we had our scare in the wood river valley last year it was a fire crew that drove over from Star,ID that actually did hero stuff to save the most threatened area.
Maybe we should all go to the next Fireman's ball in our own area's!!
Dave
John- hoping for a timely and satisfactory resolution of homelessness and shoplessness. Let us know if we can help.
You are tested and tempered in the fire, and released from the physical things of life. As difficult and painful as it is you will be stronger and better when you get past this tragedy and start anew. Stay strong and hold to your goals. This community is behind you.
So sorry to hear that JD. You are an amazing builder. God bless you and your family.

Look up (to see whats comin down)
Gosh JD....what can one say but try and keep your spirits up. #One of my favorite quotes is "When God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window." #Now you just need to find the window...in the big scheme of things a house, some mandos and other possessions don't matter much as long as you're still around to start anew.
I just don't know how you're going to manage without your shop
I remember when you had just started building and your "shop" consisted of a butcherblock table and boxes of tools #I started around the same time and I'm still working on "Awen #1" ...
You're blessed in many ways...you and your family survived, you live in a place where people are compassionate and you obviously have many friends here. #Bruce Harvey and Will Kimble offering you some goodies....fatt-dad offering you a mando to keep you in the swing of things....and all the good wishes and thoughts.
I think you're going to be ok if all of this is any indication!

John, I'm so glad you and your wife made it out safely. Prayers going your way, and keep your family safe. You will come out on the other side with a new start and fresh ideas on your shop and instruments.
Just to reinforce all that's been said: prayers that you have strength and endurance in abundance to get through this.

JD,
OMG I am ....speechless. Thankfully you all got out OK. I know you are strong in your faith and will overcome this. Please let me know how I can be of any help to you and your family.
That's horrible news... as others have said, though, I'm glad you, your wife, and the pup got out in time. I feel for your neighbor. I can't imagine how devastated I would be and that's got to hit very close to home for you.
Being an admitted tool junkie I usually have duplicate odds and ends hand tools... let us know when you're ready to fill out your shop and I'll see what I can kick in.
Best of luck through these tough times.
Paul
