I recently discovered a series of 3 cds by William Coulter (guitar) and Barry Phillips (cello) that are based on Shaker hymns and dance tunes.The 3 cds are called Simple Gifts, Tree of Life and Music on the Mountain. Each cd is loaded with beautiful instrumental arrangements of Shaker music. Mike Marshall plays mandolin family instruments and fiddle on each cd.

Anyways, I created Tabledit files of 2 of the tunes from the Tree of Life cd. The tunes are The Rolling Deep and Faithful Soldiers Travel On. On the cd they are played as a medley.

Thanks for posting these.

There is another fine album by Barry Phillips and others (I don't think Mike Marshall is on it) called Wondrous Love that features multi-instrumental arrangements of Sacred Harp melodies.
