I am looking for some information on the Weber Vintage F4 mandolin.
Does anyone own one and how do you like it?

I remember playing one at IBMA last year. It sounded much like the Vintage A that I bought. I suggest you go to The Mandolin Store they have mp3 of the Vintage 4. http://www.themandolinstore.com/Scripts/default.asp Great sounding instrument.

I'd like to try one. The hole looks a bit large.
Was just thinking. Another place with MP3s of many of their mandolins on their site is Greg Boyd. Here is the link. http://gregboyd.com/ What a great service The Mandolin Store and Greg Boyd do to have MP3s on their websites.

ive been admiring the black top vintage custom snakehead at gregboyd for a long time now. the sound clips sound great, especially the low end, and rounded trebles. Definitely a good route to go if you are afraid of taking a gamble on one of the actual vintage gibsons, which i heard can be great, but are sometimes hit & miss.

I love F4's. Gimme an F4 over an F5 anyday....
Many moons ago the very first mandolin I ever touched was an early 20's F4 that my 1st cousins Grandpa had. That was probably in the mid 60's. I remember it like it was yesterday. yep ! I love those F4 oval holes. But... I love those F5's as well.
