Default OM bridge compensation & intonation

How important is bridge compensation on OMs? My bridge is not compensated and the intonation is off. Scale length is 22.5".

It's as important as you want it to be.
Some people are fine with a straight bridge, others play "up the neck" more and prefer better intonation. A luthier can make you a custom compensated bridge for your string set, but there are so many options for scale length and string choices for OMs that there can't really be a standard compensation for OM bridges.
