Default Bootleg John - who wrote it?

hey guys- looking for some help from some of you bluegrass history geniuses - wondering who wrote the tune bootleg john, or if it is just a traditional tune. i know the stanleys did it pretty early on, but don't if they were covering it or what. anybody know for sure? trying to credit appropriately on the band's new album.

The Stanley Tradition Album credits Bootleg John to:
    Marvin Davis, Markyle Music-BMI

I don't remember the Stanley Bros recording Bootleg John, but Ralph did cut it when Keith Whitley was a Clinch Mtn Boy.

FYI... www.allmusic.com is a pretty good reference if your looking for songwriting credits, who recorded what, etc.

Can anybody tell me the chord progression for bootleg john. Most things I find online don’t seem right. I know it’s out of B
