    Default Dixie Hoedown

Have many versions of this in the bucket, like Grisman twin in A chord on an old Eric Thompson guitar record, plus Jesse of course.

Right now, trying out Stuart Duncan lines, as he recorded it on mando(!) on an album called Pre-Sequel. He does some interesting things, like touching on diminished passages over the G chord. This tune is great because it has the fairly well-set A part, then the B part is more open to interpretation, plus it has that lovely chord progression.

Is that the one from the Peters book? I've never heard the piece, so your talk of interpretation, diminished movement, and chord progression has gotten me very interested!

The "Puff, the magic dragon" version is pretty popular around these hare parts.

Well now, just humming that Puff song - you are most definitely right, it does fit like a glove...dang.

Emory Lester had a cool version out on one of his earlier recordings. I think it was on his Jerusalem Ridge album.
