Been seeing a lot of great artwork on the Cafe here recently !
Who has some original mando related art to show?

I will get it rolling with one of mine.

My son painted this when he was 15, its my first attempt at an F5, ala siminoff, made start to finish in the 2 weeks leading up to his 14th birthday while he was looking over my shoulder to hurry the process(!) the mando was sitting in the loft with light coming across it from 2 windows, havent made a scrolly mando that quickly since then!

    Nice painting!
Was it done with oils ?
I have a 15 yr son also, he is a skateboarder and 2 years ago I built a 22ft half pipe in the back yard for him. I know what you are saying about doing projects quickly.
    Thanks for sharing!

I have numerous mandolins I've drawn including Fs, Rigels and fantasy models. This one is just plain silly, but I bet it would really get some looks at a bluegrass festival.

This was a present sent me after the recent visit to the US by Mando Maria and her husband (and luthier) Rob. Hope I haven't destroyed it by adapting it for the cafe....

Here is a painting done of me about 2 years ago by a great artist named Matt Warford. Its huge, about 36" x 48" oil on canvas. He teaches art here in in Portland at the college. Here is his web page, he has lots of mando stuff too. http://www.drawandpaint.com/

Water colors are very difficult, I know because I am artist and my wife is also . I can't control the media but my wife is very good with it. I showed her your work and she liked it a lot.
    Again nice work !

I have been to your site before. Lots of cool stuff there as I have similiar interests. Even did some sailing in the past, land locked now. I also am an artist. I have one in progress similiar to your last post. But most of all. The star of your site - James Earl Billy Bob Fred. One cool dude.

Hmmm... I had better get out my pastels, or coloured pencils. Or even my Pentax K-1000. Then again, I don't have a scanner. Darned computer technology!

I never thought I would get this kind of response. Maybe we can get a few people to try creating some "mando" artwork that have never attempted any artwork before !
Very cool I love the Cafe just a whole bunch of nice folks !!!

Here is an image of one of my recent paintings. Please note that, although no one's mentioned it, every image posted is copyrighted. I also have stickers if anyone's interested.

    Thanks
