Here's a fun project I just finished-- a matching pair with an octave mandolin and an archtop parlor guitar (same body size as the octave). Surprisingly, the small body actually worked pretty well on a guitar!

Wow! I love 'em!
Outstanding work, Andrew. Based on the Mowry mandolins I have played, I'll bet these instruments sound incredible.
Andrew, I just wanted to tell you that I played the mandolin that Ted has reviewed on Jazzmando.com today and it was magnificant!!! The strings were about 3 months past their prime but it was wonderful!! You build a mighty fine mando sir!! This one to be specific:
Andrew, these two look fantastic! Could you post a full front or back shot of the pair?
Yum!
looking sweet, as always, Andrew!! Nice work.

Thanks Andrew. It's nice to see the two together like this. It makes it easier to compare the with of the fingerboards.
Love 'em
Andrew,
Are you modifying a guitar trapeze tailpiece for your octave? They look great!
Mike, yes, I just cut four additional slots in the underside of the tailpiece. That leaves two unused slots, but it gives me the approximate same spacing as at the bridge. For octaves I usually replace that steel bar with an ebony one, but this customer preferred the traditional look of the unmodified trapeze.

Some great pictures of these on your site, Andrew. The backs are incredible.
I also see that mine made it into the gallery. I am over the moon in love with this mandolin. Tone, workmanship, fit and finish - I knew it'd be nice, but I had NO idea. Thanks again!
my oh my, I am in love. WHY do you torture me so?

Beautiful work, Andrew. I'd love to try out the archtop parlour guitar - I bet one of those would look gorgeous in a honey-blonde finish
