    In general,

The 1/C has a radiused fretboard and is spruce top with maple sides and back so should be easier to play and have a more traditional sound.

The 300 is a standard fretboard but is all Mahogany. In general, Mahogany would give you a warmer sound, which I dont care for in a mandolin. I didnt care for the Mahogany mandolins I've played, which was only a couple.

Being able to play an instrument side by side is helpful. At this price level you never know what you might get from instrument to instrument.
