Paradise Is exactly like Where you are right now Only much much Better.

I saw this guy on the train And he seemed to gave gotten stuck In one of those abstract trances. And he was going: "Ugh...Ugh...Ugh..."

And Fred said: "I think he's in some kind of pain. I think it's a pain cry." And I said: "Pain cry? Then language is a virus." Language! It's a virus!

    [QUOTE=TomTyrrell;628099]I prefer "gifted" to "weirdo"

Had a conversation with a friend a few years back. I referred to myself as eccentric. She promptly said, "Eric, you have to have money to be eccentric. Your just weird." She, her husband, and I all got quite a laugh out of that one.
Isn't fun to be weird and listen to so much great music now and have these odd little tunes pop in from time to time.

Well... today it's the jingle from a local car dealer's TV commercial...

"Now you're thinking smart, Craig and Landreth Cars..." HeeHee!... That's for all the Louisville market folks.

Today "Sweet Pea" by Amos Lee has been looping through my head. It's that really cool song with him backed up on Uke, featured on those AT&T Wireless television commercials with the dad photographing his kid's sock monkey in various places while travelling on business:

    Sweet pea
    Apple of my eye
Don't know when and I don't know why
You're the only reason I keep on coming home...

Today it's Dingle Regatta, mostly because they were interviewing Rep. John Dingle (D-MI) on NPR. Sometimes Jenny Lind Polka, often Red-Haired Boy. I sorta whistle the tune under my breath.

Though, oddly enough, last night was Words by the Bee Gees. There'd been an item on Chelsea Lately about Robin Gibb fathering a child with his maid. Only takes a distant association to trigger a couple hours of obsession.

However, one of the all timers is Ieva's Polkka by the Finnish group Loituma. If you've never heard this one, go on YouTube and get one of the videos. The original had over four million hits before they took it off, and there are literally dozens of derivative videos. Here's the 1996 version -- my favorite.

Kids showed me a youtube video about 3 days ago, the tune is still stuck in my head and it is really cheesy.

Just a hamster on a piano eating popcorn, silly little song and no mandolin.

In the name of earworm safety I will not put up a link, but if you want, just do a youtube seach for hamster on a piano.

I've got Waltz for Bill Monroe by Butch. The bit with the arpeggios in the second part. Very pleasant.

I recall a scholarly study on songstuckinheaditis, it demonstrated via a large survey that people involuntarily heard songs they disliked far more than songs they liked.

My own variety of this is almost always the last musical piece I heard, even a commercial jingle. My solution has been simple: replacement therapy...immediately fire up a bluegrass or mando CD, or a downloaded tune, and crank the volume.

Well, I have two little girls, so for me it's
1.) Barney theme song ..."I love you, you love me..."

    2.) Doodlebops theme song

    3.) SuperWhy? theme song

4.) Yo Gabba Gabba theme song...

And, I just want to watch the news in the morning...*sigh*

You know, "Fish Heads" was the first song I thought of when this thread started, but I didn't mention it because it's not right to put that in the heads of others. Now that someone else has done it.

I took a fish head out to see a movie
didn't have to pay to get it in.

Fish heads are never seen in Italian restaurants

    Try the Priest
    Have a little priest
    is it good?
Sir it's too good, at least
See they obstain from the sins of the flesh
    so it's kind of fresh
    Looks a little fat
    Only where it sat
Haven't you got poet or something like that
See the problem with poet is how do you know it's deceased
    Try the priest.

This is from the Demon barber of fleet street and has been stuck in my head for 3 months

    Ay, arriba arriba
