I recently visited Michael Hooper's web site:

www.hoopermusic.com

and discovered he has added four new works to his Sound section.

Michael Finnissy's:
Confusion in the Service of Discovery
for mandolin and pre-recorded mandolins
performed by Michael Hooper

It was after hearing this recording that Finnissy wrote "Yob Cultcha (or 'keep taking the tabloids')" especially for Michael.

Eric Gross's:
Cadenza IX
for bass guitar
performed by Michael Hooper

Michael can obviously play fretted instruments! Dr Gross displays a subtle
understanding of these instruments.

Eric Gross's:
Cadenza III
for mandolin
performed by Michael Hooper
from JADCD 1118, Jazzwaves

John Peterson's:
Wired Life
for two mandolins
performed by Michael & Paul Hooper

John Peterson's "Sydney Skies" was premiered at the Sydney International Mandolin Festival last year and is a featured work in next month's London Mandolin Festival. He recently finished his latest commission for Mandolin Orchestra "Illawara Dances". Wired Life is an earlier chamber work written especially for these performers.
