In all seriousness, that would look excellent in a frame on a wall. It would take some thought, but it's pretty cool as folk art, and I'm just a swell in Wisconsin.

    It's still available ...

If framed and presented properly, and provided with a tongue-in-cheek provenance, and marketed to the right segment of the art-appreciatin' population, one could conceivably turn quite the profit for one's investment.

And at the very least, if you're still stuck with, it is a great conversation piece, and will also provide endless amusement - without even being played!

Just three days left before this unique example of folk art vanishes forever ...

Gosh I wish I had a hundred bucks I could just toss away. Sure to be an endless source of amusement and conversation piece ...

    There's a first-thing-Monday-morning piece if ever I saw one.

Just took another look. Somewhere along the line the seller added this:

THIS JUST IN: " Orville Gibson just called and said he wants this back, it was his first" Grampa left his teeth in it?

At least he's got a sense of humor about this!

This would make an awesome gag gift for the mandolinist who has everything.

It would be hilarious to walk into a high-end luthier's shop with this thing and ask what he would charge to do a setup on it...

What'd be equally as funny would be to carry it around in a genuine Loar-era F-5 case...you can just imagine...

You walk into a jam where a bunch of seasoned pickers are sitting around...

The room goes silent as you enter..you gently place the case on the table..you sloooowwwly flip the latches one by one....you gingerly lift the lid...

..then you pull THIS out !

What if it sounds like voices of angels, better than anything heard hitherto or hereafter? What if it is so good the first note of anything you play makes people weep with the beauty of it? What if it is SO good that it inspires people to suicide because they know they'll never experience anything so beautiful ever again...?

    ...eh probably not.

Well, looks like somebody took the plunge. Anybody here the guilty party?

I like how the pick guard is just bolted onto the instrument face. That should make a nice...resonant touch.
    My Instruments:
    Ellis Twin Point #524
    My beloved Old Wave #83
    Herb Taylor Bouzouki #228
    Mid-Mo M1 #4321 and M14 #176 (my first mandos)
    Scuderi #001 OM Model Guitar
Plus a fiddle, a viola, a cello, another guitar, and (worryingly) three bagpipes.
