Thumbs up Jacob Reuven with Ensemble Mactub - WOW!

I happened upon the first video below while surfing youtube today, which is a sweet solo by Classical mandolinist Jacob Reuven with his Classical/Arab/Middle-Eastern hybrid project, Ensemble Mactub. I was mesmerized by all three vids, so I thought I would share.

NB, I could not locate any CD if his available on-line other than his Vivaldi CD over at CDBaby, but if any of you out there are familiar with how to acquire an Ensemble Mactub CD, please advise.

BTW, here are a couple of his Classical performances as well, although there are many more over at youtube.

What is that bass instrument with the very long neck in the Vivaldi video?

I think it might be a Theorbo , a bass lute from the baroque era (I think).

    Theorbo. Sort of a harp-lute

I was lucky enough to meet Jacob Reuven at the Lunel mandolin festival, so can pass on the Ensemble Maktub (or Mactub - I have seen both spellings used officially) website address (CDs available): www.mandolinmusic.co.il.

By the way, I really recommend this annual festival ("Mandolines de Lunel", held in Lunel near Montpellier in the South of France) to anyone who appreciates the mandolin and would love to see several of the world's best players in the space of just a few days.
