    Default KlezKanada 2009

Anyone here going to KlezKanada this year?
Jeff Warshauer,Eric Stein and Joey Weisenberg will be on faculty.
They are all fine klezmorim and mandolin players.
Eric brings a mandocellos, octave mandolins and mandolas and organises a mandolin orchestra.
I have been attending for years and it is still highlight for me.

McMandolin, this might sound dumb, but do non-Jews attend, too? I am just starting to get into Klezmer music and I definitely couldn't go THIS year, but it would be something to work for NEXT year....Yvonne

You don't have to be Jewish to attend or play Klezmer music.
It is a welcoming and open camp.

Thanks for letting me know. I bet some of the folks that go to the EEFC Balkan camp go to it, too, so I'll ask around when I go this August to find out how prepared I should be for 2010. I know they mentioned the KlezKamp in December, but driving to NY that time of year is NOT my thing. My classical training keeps getting farther and farther away, but I LOVE it...I'm having a blast. It's like I'm finally finding my roots, you know? Yvonne

I'm not going this year and I really will miss the mando group. We had a great time last year. I'm playing much more Klezmer mandolin and now, I'd have some tunes under my belt.

I'm gonna try to record some stuff with my wife because I think more klezmer mandolin should be out there. Anyone here done some recording of klezmer tunes?
