Default Best Name For A String Musician's Dog

I just got a dog and have been wondering what the best name for a mandolin/guitar player's dog would be. My first thought was Pickstrum but I now prefer Capo.

Amandalyn comes to mind. Then there's Bill, Sam, Dave, Sarah, Sierra. Tailpiece & fret are also possibilities.

My dog's name is Candor. He is open and truthful. He always lies by me when the guys come to play on Tuesdays, at the Farmer's Market on Wednesdays, and at the museum on Sundays unless we play inside due to weather.

My wife Carrie suggests Gibson or F-hole.

Django, Big Mon, Lonzo or Oscar, Old Dangerfield, Big Sandy, Gibson, Weber, Hester, Sunburst, man there's a million. My next dog, I'm taking a tip from Jimmy Stewart, the actor, and the horse that made him look so believable as a cowboy. Is there anything finer, in this lifetime, than Pie.

I have two dogs. The oldest is a longhaired, black and tan, mini-dacshund named Be-Bop. He is truly my little buddy!!! Our younger one is a mutt...half Basenji and half Beagle. She is almost two. Her name is Bingo. Both great dogs, though Bingo likes mandolin music more than Be-Bop and he likes banjo music....sick dog!!! .

    "Inadvertent contradictory juxtaposition"

That is too long to be a good name

Wow. I wish I could say my usage wasn't inadvertent. It wasn't Freudian either.

Let's get back to the naming.

One of my critter's is called Nugget - good name because it'll suit a lad or a lass. As befits her name, Nugs LOVES the mandolin and as soon as I start playing she has to come right over and lay beside me. Here's a photo of the wee beast, peeking thru the banisters - she's a Chow/Pug mix...

    Cheers,
    Jill

Jeez, Gail, if you're reading this thread, I apologize. I just re-read my post. That was stupid and thoughtless. I've played one of yours and truly admire your work.

There have been some great ones! I like Amandalyn. My friend just said "Slide". That would have to be one cool dawg.

    Just thought of another one.
    Hyde.
    I can hear it now.
    "Come here Hyde"
    "I found Hyde"
"Where's the dog?"; "Oh he's just hyding"

Sorry, some times I just can't help myself.
