If you are not familiar with the Flatiron Army-Navy style mandolins, you may not realize that they actually have a label on the heel block that specifies the string gauges. The strings that you use on your mandolins are irrevalent unless the J-73s meet the criteria of Flatiron. GHS A-250s do. Not sure whether D'Adderios have an exact match.
