Have you guys heard this song? Besides it just being a great song, there's a mandolin in there, and Sir Paul McCartney himself is playing it! Dolly Parton's also in it too.

The link is not working for me.

Here it is. Impressive mandolin by McCartney. Sounds like he's been practicing since Everybody Wants to Dance Tonight. And, as they say in the comments section, beatle at 1:42 .
It's been taken down, live version too. Keep an eye out - it might show up again, though given who's on it I would bet against it. If it does, download it quickly and keep it to yourself. Or buy the dang thing!
Wait - just came back up again. Never mind ...

WHOOPS! I messed up the link in the OP. Sorry about that.
Thanks for the post. I enjoyed it
I enjoyed it, too. Great vibe and very nice mandolin hook and accompaniment part from Sir Macca.

Macca, always at his best when helping someone else sound good. Quite a gift.
I haven't heard a recording of him since "Moonshadow..." his voice sure hasn't changed.

He has one of those voices that as soon as you hear it you know who it is. An individual. Like Elvis and Sinatra.

I'm going to see Souvenir, the musical based on Ms. Jenkins' "career," tomorrow. Just had her on my mind -- and her voice echoing in my ear...

"People may say I can't sing, but no one can ever say I didn't sing." -- FFJ
Aptly put by someone who was not lacking in self-awareness.
As her wikipedia entry puts it, "Florence Foster Jenkins (July 19, 1868 – November 26, 1944) was an American soprano who became famous for her lack of rhythm, pitch, tone, and overall singing ability."
BTW, her last concert was at Carnegie Hall, which sold out weeks in advance.

Re Boots & Sand...sorry if it's just me but I think the video is lame-o...like something from thirty years ago & not in a good way. Nostalgia is one thing, but...YMMV, of course.
After giving that a read, I'll take note. When people start telling me I'm the greatest singer they've ever heard, it's time to take up mime!
Yusef, on the other hand, still has a quality voice. By the way, combining him with my other recent favorite act, the ultimate feel good sound-bite:

very tasty mandolin....steve martin said the world would be a better place if everyone played a banjo (shudders ...locks doors....turns up volume on tone poems) maybe if mandatory mandolin jamming were enforced....how sweet would that be
As per the original post, ie. Cat "Yusuf" Stevens, I was under the impression that politics was a verbotim subject on this board. Perhaps it is a particular slant of politics that is prohibited?
