Default 2010 NAMM Cafe Meet n' Greet

Those of you attending the January 14-17th NAMM show in Anaheim, California, in one capacity or another, whether as a vendor, a retail buyer, or just a certified gawker, let's meet!

If you have qualified for a badge and are showing up, join us for a brief, informal 'Meet and Greet' at the NAMM designated "Quiet Place" in the Marriot, Friday January 15th in Grand Ballrooms A-C, 9:30-10:30 AM. This will be a great place to swap notes on the "Don't Miss" booths for those who were on the show floor Thursday. Vendors, if you want Cafe-ers to come to your booth during the show, this is a great place to hook them with literature and free stuff (picks, stickers, swag).

See you Friday the 15th, 9:30-10:30 AM.

How does one go about getting a Qualifiying Badge, if you are "certified gawker" with no insider ties?

I plan to be there with bells on! A student rock band I work with made it to the national JamFest competition at NAMM on Saturday, so I am heading out with them to help out, and to EXPERIENCE the show! I may also be performing at a couple of the vendors too, so since this will be my first time out there, I am PSYCHED to grab all of the mando experiences I can get!

It's a closed convention to members and media, but if you know someone who is a member and you know far enough in advance, they can get you a friends badge. Unfortunately, we're past that date as far as I'm aware.

    Hi Ted,

Wish I could make it, but I'm just blasting through on Saturday. Maybe next year.

    Thanks,

Ooo. That's a little too early on Friday for me. Oh well. My friend, Ken, and I will probably get there at about noon on Friday. We're driving down from the central valley early-early Friday.

Scott, Ted, & all... I'd love to meet you somewhere and trade notes, tell stories, and maybe share a meal.

Well now plans are changing. Should be able to make it after all.

How does one go about getting a Qualifiying Badge, if you are "certified gawker" with no insider ties?

    Sandy,
Last year attendance was off and I heard that NAMM was selling day passes to the general public on Sat and Sun. It's possible that will happen again this year. Might be worth at least a call to the convention center. Or hit Anaheim and decide when you get there whether to do Disneyland or NAMM.

I'll be there with the new Headway mandolin pickup and the amazing Headway EDB-1 eq/direct box for acoustic instruments. Thanks for making this happen guys!

"In order to combat the growing visitor badge situation at the NAMM Show, over-allotment badges are unavailable this year. Visit our Badge Allotment Policy Statement for more info."

Doesn't look promising for the "General Public". Did they really sell visitor badges last year?
