Advanced eMusic exclusive O'Connor, Thile, Sutton "Jam Session"

Hey all,

I don't post a whole bunch here, but I thought I would pass this on. I am a member of the music subscription service eMusic. If you don't know about it, basically you pay a fixed rate per month for so many downloads. It used to be just indie labels, but they have expanded recently. They get exclusive deals with different labels to distribute some albums early.

The "Jam Session" CD due out in April is available through them now. I am literally listening to it as I type. I have no financial interest in letting you know, I just thought some of you might want to hear it early. It is only in mp3 format, but I also plan on buying it in April to get the liner notes.

I think that eMusic generally has some deals where you can try them out with 25 or 50 free downloads, so Google around for that first.

It can also be purchased from Amazon in mp3 format only until April 13th in case you would like to go that route. Thanks for the heads up on the album Jake as I was unaware of it until I saw your post. Thank you, I love listening to musicians who are masters of their instruments, and Chris Thile is certainly that!

Thanks so much for that. I wasn't aware that Amazon had it as well. I will say that Thile's solo in "In the Custer Blues" is outstanding!

I have found all kinds of great mandocentric music on eMusic. I know your pain Andy about not having enough downloads left. I think I could download my monthly allotment in one day, but I try to pace myself to one album week.

Just a word of caution about emusic. The service is wonderful, but you may notice a hefty increase in Spam/Junk mail to the email account that you register with.
