If I had the cash, a Brock F5 would be near the top of the list of things to get. Very nice.

Sound? Well, I spent most of the evening playing it needless to say. The sound is very different from what I'm used to (a Brock F5 primarily) but that is what I wanted. My first "nice" mando was an old Gibson A0, but I haven't really touched an oval hole mando much since then. It is surprisingly loud. It is going to take me a bit to get used to it but so far I am very happy with it.

I might guess that this imperative means "go ahead and post a soundclip/video". If so, IŽll second it.

As far as picture taking goes, the pics are great (good enough for not being a professional) though the mandolin deserves a background that is "simple".

You're right on both counts. I'll try to get a sound clip up soon. It definitely would help with a different backdrop -- I just threw it on the couch (the least complex surface I felt comfortable putting it on when I got home).

    Some more details on it:

Spirit varnish. Engelmann top, eastern red maple back, european maple sides, red maple neck with compression style truss rod. James tail, Waverly tuners.

Still getting used to it tone-wise.... very different beast than my F5.

Very fine work. I concur with Steve-o -- especially nice headstock.
