    Default San Patricio

I've spent the am listening to the new Chieftains collaboration musically tying together the two wings of my family. First heard the legend of the San Patricio battalion while tracking down the work of Mexican architect Juan O'Gorman, whose curious name (and great buildings) was enough to send me off. (Now that we have collectively introduced Pablo, Elisa, Camila, Sofia and Miguel Kennedy we are returning the favor.) Great, great music-Ry Cooder's wimpish lyrics not withstanding.

    Feliz Dia de San Patricio!

    Mick

I first learned of the history of the St Patricios from the song 'John Riley' on that superb Tim OBrien album, The Crossing... and as we are on the subject, i thought that i might as well mention it here too.

Are there other songs tune associated with this history?

Don't know about more tunes but there was a movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120775/ . I thought it was a disappointment and tedious - too bad since the underlying story is so compelling.
