I posted this a little while ago on the CBOM board, but thought it might be appreciated here as well...
"I just thought I'd share that I spent a little time working on Joni Mitchell's "All I Want" on my zouk last weekend. It is a piece that she played on lap dulcimer, so has a series of parallel intervals with plenty of drone-- perfect for playing on the zouk, which sounds to me a little dulcimer-ish already.
It took me a while to figure out/invent a tuning where I could reach what I needed to (small hands, long scale), but it came out really well. I ended up tuned in ADAC#. "
Thought I'd add that the opening sequence was still a tough nut to crack... with a lot of dissonance, hard to hear, and a handfull to reach... but worth the effort.
