    Default Renforth K-9 Mandocello.

I've already posted elsewhere on the forum, but this is the mandocello I made by converting a cheap archtop guitar.

Looks great, John? What brand guitar was this when you started? Would love to hear some sound samples.

Beauty, I'm just finishing up a 60's Harmony Monterey-Cello conversion; though yours is vastly more beautiful. I'll try and get a pic later.(I like your Dobro holes !). Still, I love the sound of the plywood Harmony now more than when it was a guitar. How could it sound bad with all that metal vibratin' ?! Bit of a bear to play but I hope that's just partially the nature of the beast. Might have to try a few more of these conversions. Any tenors for sale out there ?

Thanks for the comments. This started off as a Melody, model no. F01 E2 an extremely cheap Chinese electro-acoustic guitar. It has a plastic bowl back and a bolt on neck. Scale length is 24.75 inches. I was pleasantly surprised by it's good sound and playability as a guitar and regret not buying a second one to keep as a guitar. I think it sounds even better as a Mandocello and is easy to play. Strings are D'Addario J78's .022 - .034 - .048 - .074
I've posted a video clip elsewhere, but here it is again.
