    Default Numbness in Hands and Arms Has Kept Me From Playing Since Christm

    Hi all,

    I am still out here someplace. I've just had some complications from the spinal cord injury which are causing my arms and hands to be quite numb. I had an MRI done last week (finally got to the point where I couldn't live with it anymore). No results yet.

    I have no intention of getting rid of my mando (the cats like sitting on the case too much).

    Good playing to all and I'll start back at the beginning again with my Greg Horne beginner book (which I did make it all the way through once) as soon as is physically possible.

    Carolie,

    Best luck treating your spinal chord injury and its accompanying numbness. It sounds like you are in good hands already. Hopefully, playing mandolin will come back quickly, sort of like riding a bike.

    Get well soon.

    Hang in there kiddo! Glad your not contemplating selling the mandolin. Keep it even if you can't pick it you can still play chords which is still beautiful music! Good luck!

    Best Wishes for your recovery and returning to something you care about, picking the mandolin. I can certainly understand your emotions since a lower back injury with related nerve damage to my right leg forced me out of a hobby I loved. That's why I went back to something I loved years ago, music played on the guitar and mandolin.

    Hey Carolie;

    I hope you can get playing soon. I had a similar condition... numbness/tingling in arms/hands from a spinal cord injury in my neck. Doctors can really do wonders. Email me if you want to know the particulars...ftiedemann@aol.com.

    Carolie, I have a good friend with numbness in his hands and he is going to have acupuncture treatments soon. He has had good success on his knees in the past and I have had complete relief on one of my shoulders through acupuncture. This may possibly be a good treatment for you, as well.
