Default Common Jazz tunes in your area?

This summer at festivals, I've had a number of folks who are interested in playing acoustic string Jazz ask what tunes are common among the folks I with whom I play regularly (Seattle area). I compiled the following list, which has more emphasis on 40s and 50s era jazz than swing.

Because we are playing a non traditional Jazz instrument, it made me wonder what other Jazz mando players in different areas of the country commonly play? If you feel so inclined, post some tune titles.

Aside from the rhythm department, I play with a clarinet/steel player...some of our regulars include:

    All of Me
    Sunny Side of the Street
    Rosetta
    Pennies From Heaven
    Honeysuckle Rose

I've had a chuckle or two doing these...they are fun and provide lots of fertile territory for working on my improvising and weirder jazz cords and swing rhythms. Some can be pretty soulfull also. There IS life beyond bluegrass!

Time After Time (think the Miles Davis version)
    Human Nature (ditto)
If I Only had a Brain (my life's soundtrack)
When you Wish Upon a Star
    American Patrol
    Rose of San Antone
The Girl I Left Behind Me
(That's Why the) Lady is a Tramp
A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes
    Fools Rush In
Take Me Out to the Ballgame (thanks Don Stiernberg!)
    Somewhere Over the Rainbow

I know I'll think of a few more as the night goes on..........

    Cheers,

Ah...and don't forget "As Time Goes By" (think Stephane Grapelli)

A lot of these (see posts above) are on YouTube in some form or fashion. I just play along with them...keeps me amused for hours. Cheers.

Try an get the guys to play Take Five & Honeysuckle Rose with me.

Generally we take a tune like San Antonio Rose or Faded Love, or When You & I Were Young (Maggie), and swing the hell out of it. Some find it contemptable. Myself, am on the fence about it.
