I saw Bill Kirchen a few years ago playing semi-solo (just drums and bass behind) on the Commons in Ithaca NY in a free summer evening concert -- he was headed up to the Rongovian Embassy in T-burg for a later show, IIRC. Whole show was unreal... just sitting within a few feet of him in the open air... he did the whole Hot Rod Lincoln shtick (it's on several of his projects) imitating every guitarist who ever played. Even when you know it's coming, it's jaw-dropping to see it done. The man was born with a Telecaster in his hands.
That 3 piece is his standard set up now " Too Much Fun ". His version on his old " coal burnin' Tele " has to be the gold standard for that song . Kitchen is not only a world class Tele-slinger but a fantastic entertainer.
