Default Hill No. 22 First A style

Hey guys. It's been a really long time since I've been on here... not sure if anybody remembers me!!! Anyway, here are some pictures of my No. 22 mandolin I just finished. It's my first A style after building 21 F styles. Red spruce top, curly mahogany back, sides and neck. The rest is rosewood. Sorry for the link, I'm having trouble posting pictures tonight.

Beautiful instrument. What's the asking price? I would like to see some of your F style work if you have any links. What part of Virginia are you in? I live outside of Charlottesville.

Hey thanks guys. Try this link to my facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...00001417226160 You might see something you like, or don't like there!!!!

I'm in Haysi, Va. About 7 miles from the Breaks Park, or the Ky line. I'd be afraid to put an asking price on another mandolin like this one (No 22 is sold) but it would be around 2500. My Fs usually hit around the 4k mark. I have had good luck selling my mandolins in the last couple of years, but no luck building them!!! Unfortunately I just don't have the time or the desire to be building much these days and this is the only mandolin I have worked on in the last two years. I will get back into it one day soon hopefully. I've actually learned quite a bit about building since I've quit if that makes any sense, and have had some great conversations with Jim Triggs lately, and I'm excited to build another F. Let me know if the facebook link doesn't work...

Really nice work, Brad. Congrats on # 22, and on all of the mandolins featured on you Facebook page. Very nice!

I wanted to do a blueburst F5 too but it looks like you beat me to it. Now I know what that looks like. Bugger......

That green one is something else. They all look really good too.

Hey, I say do a blue one if you want. Not like there's not a million tobacco bursts out there. It's funny how many people will say "how did you get the wood blue" or "green". I'm like, are you not curious how to get it yellow and brown??? But thanks guys. I appreciate all the comments. Makes me want to build a mandolin....

    Hey Brad,

The flame looks awesome and the fit and finish are even better. It's always easier to tell the quality of a craftsman on an instrument with a natural finish and this one turned out great. Keep up the good work.
