    Beautiful! Great picking. I really like the trading back and forth between that guitar and fiddle and the beat holds it all together. Looks like a mini-electric guitar? Can you provide any details on it?

    Awesome! I love it. I admit that I'm not too well-versed in traditional Indian music, but I assume this is an unusual group of instruments for the music, am I right? I love how the electric mandolin and violin together sound like a single sitar. Am I hearing that right?

    Splendid use of electric mandolin. I suppose there are traditionalists who chide the use of electric instruments in classical Indian music. Aravind, do you also play sarod or sitar? And do you experience resistance in employing the electric mandolin?

    @Bernie Daniel.......Great, you enjoyed it. It does look like a mini-electric guitar.
    My guru, U.Shrinivas, designed it as we use now, from the original accoustic mandolin.
    The trading back and forth you enjoyed is the real core of our style of playing.
    Thank you....

    @David, Thrilled I am getting such lovely response...
    What you saw is the traditional way south Indian classical concerts, normally are...
    Regarding both mandolin and violin sounding like a single instrument...
    I'll take that as a compliment as both the mucisians are real seniors...
    Thank you.....

    Fantastic job! Very enjoyable.
    I look forward to hearing and seeing more of your music.
    All my best to you.
    Also, please pass on my kind regards to U.Shrinivas. I enjoy his playing considerably, and have received much inspiration from it.

    @catmandu2,....happy, you enjoyed watching.
    Regarding traditionalists, they are always there...
    I find there are also,a huge section of people who welcome and encourage new trends.......
    Ha Ha...I find time is not enough for me to practise 1 instrument... ^-^
    Concerning resistance-- So far everyone has been very indulgent to me....
    Thank you......

    That is very interesting. Are the mandolin and violin tuned EADG as we do in the west or do you use an alternate tuning?

    I'm trying to get a handle on the time signature, but I'm ignorant of Indian classical music...

    I don't know if this helps, or is applicable, but I believe U. Srinivas plays a 5 string electric tuned to CGCGC

    @Steve Ostrander and Ed Goist,
    Ed, thanks for the post. You are 100% right!! It's just that I am used to the Indian style of SA-PA-SA....
    Steve, I think Ed and myself answered a part of your question......
    Re...time signature....It's a little complicated for me to explain.....The piece I played, is set in a 5 beat pattern....
    Edji, can you help out in this also?.....

    Yeah, it's refreshing to see how the mandolin can be used in different musical settings.

    It's really great how you're able to get all those sounds (micro tones) through the slides. Fantastic playing and wonderful music!
