Thread: Never Going Back Again Fleetwood Mac

Default Never Going Back Again Fleetwood Mac

I heard this song on the radio yesterday after many years and thought it would be a great mandolin song. Has anyone ever tried it? I have found guitar tabs for it but the usual converting to mandolin tabs process is slow. Can't find notation for it. Sooner or later I hope I get much better at being able to learn by ear.

Acoustic Guitar magazine recently published a tab version for guitar. Perhaps you could adapt that. Not sure what issue, but you can probably find it at www.acousticguitar.com

Not tab help here, but funny I was talking with fellow cafe member Eddie Sheehy about this tune, which Sharon Shannon played following a Scottish tune called Fead an Iolair (Eagle's Whistle). It's track #2 on her 'Each Little Thing' album. Great rendition.

Sharon Shannon's version is pretty cool, not expecting it on an accordian.

I figured this out on guitar a LONG time ago, but never tried it on mando. I think I was using Drop D capoed on the 5th fret, but later read that Buckingham used a different tuning. Might explain it was tricky in a spot or two to fingerpick.

Also, anyone know if Buckingham Nicks was ever released on CD? I had the vinyl and about wore it out. I remember picking out Cryin' In the Night in open D on the guitar. Man, that was a long time ago it seems.

Saw their Soundstage on Palladia last night...it was pretty cool to see them working through the undercurrent of conflict/former disgust for one another, get lost in the music, and make some magic. Man, they can still play/sing...

    THANKS.

This thread made me break out the flattop last night and see if I can remember the picking. It came back to me, even though I do it in Drop D instead of the C Wahine or some tuning he appears to be doing it in that live one w/Stevie. Fun one to pick.

Still haven't been able to figure out how to play this natural mandolin song. Hopefully as I get better at learning by ear it will happen. Someone out there has to have played this on their mandolin once!
