I bet it's great! Very similar to the A5-1 that I own, but parallel tone bars v. x-bracing.

I owned one of those that was signed by Steve Carlson. It was in fact x-braced and was the LOUDEST mandolin I have ever played. Nice tone all around.

It was a great mandolin...the one that truly inspires the phrase "SELLER's REMORSE" on my part.

I own a 84 A5 Junior that I really, really like. I bought it new and do not plan to part ways with it. It is not my only mando by any means, but one that give me as much pleasure as playing pricier custom instruments.

Most of the tone bar braced Flatirons I have heard have some serious punch.

I'm convinced to bid on it now.

I had an 80s Flatiron for a while and it was a great mando. You don't see so many of them over this side of the pond either so grab one while you can if the price is right. Happy bidding & good luck

I've got an 85, which is my only acoustic mando - I bought it new and am not planning to get rid of it!
