Default Two scrolls - Lebeda F5 and Weber OM

I just shot this photo for a web project, and thought y'all might like to see it. It's my redwood-topped, brown-stained Lebeda F5 Premium Plus, in front of my Weber Yellowstone F Octave.

Nice composition and lighting. I've only seen the Weber om F's before I played om, sure would like to try one now. Did have a Lebeda for awhile and it was very nice. Good job!

fp - How old is your Lebeda ?. The F-5 Premium Plus that i once had,had a scooped 'Florida'. I have to say that i like the fingerboard termination on yours. My Lebeda F-5 "Special",bought used 18 months ago, & which is now 9 years old, also has a scooped 'Florida' with 'faux' frets,

Ivan, I bought mine new in the Spring of 2007, although I think it might have sat in the store (Spruce Tree Music) for a while before I bought it. It was probably made in 2006, I'm guessing.

Spruce Tree must have ordered several of their last series of spec Lebedas with that S-curve or "wave" termination on the fingerboard. I notice the two remaining ones they have in stock also have that curve. I think it's one of the better ways to do a non-Florida fingerboard; it's a little stylish and doesn't have that chopped-off look, like a Gibson Sam Bush model.

Hi fp - Thanks. I agree that the fingerboard termination on your Lebeda is very nice indeed, far better than the mostly useless 'Floridas' that still seem to be in fashion.I also agree re.the 'chopped-off' look as well. That should never be a part of any Mandolin, especially an "F" style. It totally destroys the 'integrity' of the F-style for me. As a rider to this thread,i wish we could get some up to date news on what Jiri Lebeda's doing these days,
