Anyway..... here's a "fun" participatory time waster for anyone who wants/needs a distraction (to avoid practicing), or to obliquely comment on the topic of practicing (or not practicing).
Here are the original lyrics by the Coasters, for easy reference, so you can twist them to your own viewpoint(s)
"Yakety Yak - The Coasters (original lyrics)
Take out the papers and the trash
Or you don't get no spendin' cash
If you don't scrub that kitchen floor
You ain't gonna rock and roll no more
Yakety yak (don't talk back)
Just finish cleanin' up your room
Let's see that dust fly with that broom
Get all that garbage out of sight
Or you don't go out Friday night
Yakety yak (don't talk back)
You just put on your coat and hat
And walk yourself to the laundromat
And when you finish doin' that
Bring in the dog and put out the cat
Yakety yak (don't talk back)
Don't you give me no dirty looks
Your father's hip; he knows what cooks
Just tell your hoodlum friend outside
You ain't got time to take a ride
Yakety yak (don't talk back)
Yakety yak, yakety yak
Yakety yak, yakety yak
Yakety yak, yakety yak
Yakety yak, yakety yak

I'll start off with a revised first verse. (Add your own "first verse", or revision of any part(s) of the song.)
"Yakety Yak" (Rewrite):
Take out your music and your ax
If you want to earn some spendin' cash
If you don't practice power chords
You ain't gonna rock and roll at all
Yakety yak (don't talk back)

(It really doesn't make any difference (to me) whether you practice or not - nobody is holding a gun to your head insisting that you put in all your spare time on the instrument, when you really don't feel like putting in the hours. But, please, if you are really just a recreational dabbler, drop the pretense that you are some sort of intensely motivated serious super-duper student.)
