I ran across kind of a neat thing this evening. I have been looking for some way to clean between the strings and the face of my headstock for some time now...a polishing cloth just don't cut it. I had even tried a fine paintbrush, which did not work very well at all...in fact, it put very very fine scratches in the finish!
To cut to the chase, my sister gave me a small makeup application brush that works incredibly well for this job. It gets all the crud out from underneath the armrest and tailpiece, under the fingerboard extension, etc. Thought that I would share this if people were having similar problems cleaning up.
