Default An invitation for experienced luthiers to expand their skills

I was inspired to start this thread by a question asked in another that I could not find again: How does one become a luthier or become an apprentice? John Hamlett offered the advice of working for an established company in a related field that would transfer learned skills into the art of making mandolins. I have such a company that makes not only banjos but an occasional mandolin. I really need someone who has some experience in doing fret work, finishing, staining, and general woodworking knowledge to fill a position at Stelling Banjo Works near Charlottesville. VA. Anyone interested can call 434-295-1917 or send an email resumé to stelling@stellingbanjo.com. A minimum commitment of two years employment would be expected. Valuable experience plus a reasonable wage guaranteed.

Sounds like a great opportunity for the right person.
