Am I the only one Rosemary's telling that her video is private?
Malcolm Grundy from Montreal
I was wondering why my ears were burning Thanks for the kind words all...
Yikes! Don't know how that happened. Try again, if you dare...
Fine picking, thanks for revealing your private life to us.
Thanks Mike!
You nailed the sigh oh tee Rosemary, it's sounding good.
thanks john. the b part is tough for me, but it's coming along and i'm enjoying it. sorry for the lowercase writing--i just got home and my dog has seized possession of my left arm (by laying on it and making me pet her--not by any violent means).
Here's mine since I said I pick it too.
Thanks for posting EarlG. Anyone else got one to share? The more the merrier. I have already learned something from each of them.
That sounds great Earl. I like all the little differences in our versions.
Thanks ya'll, it is fun to post playing sometimes. I don't know why I don't use the drones more, it sounds great to me.
Dyno-mite!

When are you ever gonna learn to pick?
Since you told me how to say the name, I thought I'd add mine. Pete Martin's arrangement from Mandolin Magazine. Recorded on a Zoom H2. The parakeet likes this one too.
Big Sciota & bird.mp3
Jordan, that's fantastic, love that b part and I plan on stealing some of it.
Pickloser, very sold timing and perfect tone.
Any others? Now we can all pick this with the OP...
As I mentioned earlier, one of my favorites. I try to play it with a little more old-timey feel and threw in a few Sam Bush quotes as well. This video was too funny not to share, mistakes and all. Someone is jealous of the attention I give the mandolin!

I love it, Shaun--the playing and the dog! I really enjoyed the variations you did the last time through. I think your dog agrees...
I recorded a simple version/video of this tune in A but when I try to upload it here it says invalid file. Help
Try uploading to YouTube first. Then you can link to it or embed it within your response. There is a thread somewhere that discusses how to to embed a video.
For what ever reason I dont make the age requirments to create an account on You Tube...tried it several times with all the right info. Must be some sort of a glich. Oh well
attempting to post on behalf of Scotti.... This is presently a wmv file. We'll see if I have to convert it to mp3 or something.
Hmmmm. The attachment page isn't coming up for me. It stays blank and won't respond to "browse" to find the file requests. It's been tens of minutes now and it doesn't work yet. Might be my computer is somehow chugged down, but it doesn't look like it. I'll try later. If you (gentle reader) can serve Scotti, then either he or I could send you his .wmv file for conversion and posting. I'm trying to help but am hobbled for some reason.
I think I see why Scotti couldn't get the .wmv to post. The cafe page (this very one, the 'advanced' page) says it only likes these file extensions:
bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg mid mp3 pdf png tef txt
Seems picky to me 8^b.. but what do I know? I'll try again later. I don't have a converter for mp3, or rather, I don't know enough to be able to identify the options for mp3 conversion. But I think I left out the codecs/libraries to do that when I installed this software.
ADDENDUM: the file here is a wmv file simply renamed .mp3 and it may or may -not- work for you. I hope I've done a service to Scotti here.
ADDENDUM2: Well, it appears that the wife's Mac doesn't understand the original .wmv file, nor my converted .avi file, and just can't handle it at all. That means I am absolutely useless for this purpose. Now where -did- I put that list of things I'm useless at?.... Wow. That's a long one.
