    i can play along and noodle and got the chords down just fine but id really like to nail down the melody solid, any leads or help is greatly appreciated.

    any one who has the bluegrass mandolin extravaganza bust out your disc and give a listen to that tune! and check out franks back up on the bridge (much cooler than dawgs hehe)

    So would Frank...

    Play a D pentatonic scale and hum "Mexican Stomp" at the same time, and odds are you will hear something you can use.

    As for the B part, well...part of the appeal of that tune (at least to me) is that you can be goofy in D, and as long as you hit the changes (and play in 3/4), you can't really go wrong.

    So get all mariachi and have fun with it.
