Not tempted, just curious . . . I've never seen the like of this. Lettering style looks kind of Arts & Crafts. What do you reckon?

I've never seen that logo used by Gibson on anything.
I used to have a Gibson washing machine. Maybe this is from an icebox.
It could have been from products made by any number of firms with the name Gibson. If it was a case badge someone will pop up with an example.
People will jump to crazy conclusions about anything...!
Next thing you know, it will show up on Ebay nailed to the headstock of some cheap import and listed as a Gibson mandolin.

Give them some slack............. it is being offered from a Pawn Shop. Maybe Chumlee is involved. It looks like it came off one of the 1940's Gibson Refridraders to me. Ain't no Gibson case from Kalamazoo, MI that saw such a logo.
I went looking to see if I could find it on a Gibson ice box or refrigerator. If you never saw it, I'll assume my first assumption was correct.
If I found one of these I would sure affix it to my mandolin case.
I tried Googling "Gibson appliance logo" but couldn't find anything like it -- which means nothing, since there could have been a large number of nameplates etc. attached to various stoves, refrigerators, etc.
"Gibson" is a not-uncommon name, and who knows? Could have been attached to almost any type of object. Maybe a Gibson beer cooler...

I kinda like the idea of a Gibson "Badge." Are they now empowered to arrest people for--I don't know--faking/counterfeiting a musical instrument? Of course that's just a fantasy, because we all know that that never happens.

Lap steel?
Looks like one of those fake Civil War belt buckles I saw on Pawn Stars, minus the bullet hole..
Never Argue with an Idiot, they will just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
How about the pin badge the "Gibsonites" wore when Lloyd Loar was in the band? That should raise the price.
