Very tele-ish, and not just visually.

I love all of this guy's videos! As cheesy as the accompaniment can be, he really gets after it and picks!

Wow, that's great! Thanks for finding this. Sometime when I have time, I'll have to figureout what he's playing and how to do this.

I'd say he had played the mandolin a few times before. Really smooth, clean and tasteful playing there.

Looks like a Saga kit to me.....just goes to show you don`t have to pay out a fortune to get a great sound!

Yeah, he's getting pretty even tone out of what appears to be the stock lipstick pickup. Must have done something to it.

Especially if you are as good a player as he clearly is. Just such a smooth style, perfect timing, excellent!

Great sound.... so tell me, a 5 string would have a B string on the top? seeing stuff like this is making me want an electric mandolin

Man,that is some great pickin'! This fellow has several e-mando videos out there, and they are all great.

Pipeous, a 5th string on a regular scale e-mando is a C on the bass side, while a 5th string on an electric octave mandolin is a B on the treble side.

The extra fifth string, being on the low side, is a C. Essentially makes them a mandolin/mandola combo.

well I've only been able to find 4 string saga kits. it would cost me less to just get a mandobird locally. the hunt has started now.

Yeah, the saga kits are 4-string, that I've seen.

There's another thread about the Moongazer kits, and they have a cool 5-string kit.

    here's the moongazer site:
