This was one of the most amazing solo shows I've ever seen. The opening medley indicated what the ride was going to be like: the first movement of Bach's violin sonata in Gm, Dylan's "Masters of War," Monroe's "Evening Prayer Blues," and "Rabbit on a Log." Thile breathed new life into everything through both his mandolin and his voice!

I'd never seen him live before, and it was really interesting to hear him play free of a band. He really brought a lot of richness to the music through his variations of both timing and dynamic range. It was a masterwork all the way.
