I was at the one last night in NH. It was quite inspiring.
"your posts ... very VERY opinionated ...basing your opinion/recommendations ... pot calling ...kettle... black...sarcasm...comment ...unwarranted...unnecessary...."
It was not too widely posted. I heard about it from a NEBG (New England BlueGrass) post. Here it is on the Cafe calendar for 4/22: http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/ca...=2012-4-22&c=1
Hopefully it's not too late to join.

Wish I'd known earlier. I would have made it work.
I used to own a house in Putney. It was a great place to live but now I'm in Montana too far a drive.
Yes, I was there for both the workshop and the concert later that evening (Mike Compton by himself onstage, followed by Sierra Hull... both were excellent!). I, too, consider myself only an advanced beginner but decided the experience alone would be well worth it. Mike is a great teacher, even handed out a booklet of Bill Monroe songs & tabs that he had transcribed. Even though I couldn't play thru the songs smoothly in class, I now have my work cut out for me (depending on how much I want to emulate the full Monroe style... but that's a whole other forum topic). At any rate, I highly recommend sitting in on a Mike Compton workshop if you ever get the chance.

Dang. I went to the Putney show but didn't know about the workshop, which I'm sure that I could have attended.
