I just saw a couple of the videos of Andy Leftwich at this site:
    http://www.cmt.com/artists/az/leftwi...y/videos.jhtml

Dang, is all I have to say. Watch "Shark Tooth." Dare I say that there is some Thile-esque picking. I've been listening to Andy's album nonstop for the past week. If you don't have it, buy it, tonight.

hmmmm. That made my day. I don't own his CD YET, but that Shark Tooth is a good one, it's like a triplet factory...

Was watching Cody on the "Melee on the Backstretch". I've been learning how to flatpick lately, and dang... He makes me want to break my fingers. OK, maybe not, but man that boy can flat out pick.

I saw Andy play with Ricky Scaggs a couple of years ago and he was the hottest thing on stage. Lots of twin fiddle stuff and then he played mando for one song and burned it up. His playing was the thing that I remember the most about that show.

Very deft picker, for sure. I saw him win the Merlefest mando contest when he was 17. Good kid, too.

They should open up in a web browser and play. If you have a slow connection it may take a while.

go to Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour and search the archives for Andy Leftwich's show. #If you have high speed internet service this is a great video. #Cody Kilby, Rob Ickes,... superb modern bluegrass. #Now that I think of it... I'm going to download that right now.
