Default Two pipe marches on Octave and tenor guitar.

Just posted a couple of marches I have been playing, a 2/4 called "The Meeting of the Waters" and my 6/8 version of "Bonnie Dundee". They are already over on the SAW group as a result of somebody else posting "Bonnie Dundee", but thought I'd offer them here in the CBOM section. The two instruments I am playing are my own builds.

That is fantastic to my eyes & ears!!! Have you posted full versions of these tunes elsewhere? I need to learn that first on for sure.

Thanks for kind comments, lads. Bernie, if you mean notated versions I can produce those for you as abc or as a standard pdf (from the abc). Let me know what you need. If you look at YouTube at TheOldBores channel you will find a lot more of this music I have posted.

Thanks a lot! "hot off the press" -- caused me to wonder, do you write music out in abc notation or do you convert it from standard notation? I've always wondered if some folks get familiar enough with it to sight read abc notation directly?

Hi Bernie, in my case I sit at the keyboard and just write out the abc note by note, having the mandolin to hand (or a piano keyboard) to check the notes. I am happy enough with the abc system now that i find this a fairly quick way of getting a tune down, though I still have to go to the manual at times to find out how to create a particular note or effect such as 1st and 2nd time bars. I think if you use it for a particular type of music regularly you get into the way of learning how to put this down.

Here, as promised, is the abc of my version of Bonnie Dundee. I have done it as a 6/8 and if you look around you will find loads of different versions and timings as it is a very popular song over here in Scotland.

Thanks again John. Do you want me to post your abc's as mando tab?
