Thread: Western Mass Jam Sessions

    Default Western Mass Jam Sessions

I used to run a regular jam session First Sundays at my house, but things got crazy with students and family and I had to postpone it indefinitely.

I'm still interested in jamming, however.

Where are the good mandolin / bluegrass jam sessions in Western MA?

I too would like to join a jam session if there is one around. There is a Celtic one in Williamsburg on Thursdays, but I work most Thursdays and could not commit. I'm about 25 minutes west of Northampton but driving to South Hadley would not be a problem. What level players are you looking for? Although I've been playing off/on for forty years, I'm mostly self-taught intermediate level.

Larry Sherman might know, he lives in Greenfield. Look him up in the search feature.

While not a b-g jam, consider the Dream Away Lodge in Becket for their Wednesday night song circles. Usually some good pickers, and likely the more common b-g tunes can make their way around the circle w/no problem.
