    Thanks.

The Mandolin Cafe actually launched November 18, 1995 under this name but at the time having a custom domain name seemed unnecessary. To my knowledge there was only one other mandolin web resource prior to the Cafe (not counting CoMando which is a listserv, not a web site) and it was owned by Dan Beimborn who did some work with me this a.m. on the forum around 5:30 a.m. Another few years and I'll be able to say I've spent a third of my life working on this. Gahhhkkk.

Well we certainly appreciate all the work. It's a good community, great resource and entertaining. I guess the big problem being the founder is what to do with the bazillions you've made being an Internet pioneer

I check in at the Cafe almost every day. I walk in, get my personalized mug from the mug tree near the counter, and pour myself a strong cup of black coffee. Then I check out the conversations and see who's selling what, and I'm ready for the day. Congrats to Scott, whenever it started.

Trying to figure out what this all means, it occurred to me to look at the This Day In Mandolin History feature - after all, all the answers are right here, if you just know where to look - and found this entry: "1996 - mandolincafe.com domain name registered on this date." Now, I am sure Scott knows what's what on this score, and many more, and it looks like the Café's birthday is actually 11/18/95, and 6/13/96 is more akin to a christening date. But any reason to celebrate anything about this happening hangout is absolutely A-OK with me! When's the parade?

Happy Birthday! I want to say a big 'Thank You' from a newbie who has found a great amount of support and encouragement from the members on this sight! I have to think that things would have been more complicated for me without the information that I have gained from this site.
