eBay UK Gibson F4

Someone on eBay UK is offering for sale or auction a brand new Gibson F4 patented Feb 1st 1998, is this right ? at the buy it now price of £1.200 this must be the worlds cheapest F4 and very rare, being brand new at 14 years old.

That would be 1898 and 114 years old, at least the patent is. Just guessing but I'm betting it's a typo. Are they advertising it as new? You should post a link. I don't know -what is 1200 pounds in US currency? I've stumbled on f4's in the $3000 range from time to time.

This guy keeps popping up using the same fraudulent techniques on eBay. Does he limit his efforts to high-end mandolins? I doubt it. I have notified eBay and hijacked account holders on previous occasions but never had any response. Ebay could make it easier to report such scams and also inform the allerter what they have done in response.
Has anyone fallen for this trick? Presumably so or he would not keep doing it but I doubt anyone in the mando world is likely to fess up to doing so!

Gone! Interesting that most of his other items were [supposedly] located in Hong Kong and this one in the UK.

Hi Dave. Seen this ad everywhere including Craigslist. Anyone who falls for the "buy it outside Ebay etc" , which he always says, must have a screw loose.
As already mentioned--keep away.
