    Default Bach Minuets

Two minuets in G from the Little Notebook for Anna Magdalena.

Arranged for two mandolins and two guitars

This one is not for the purists !! - but the 1st mandolin and 1st guitar are playing what Bach wrote with the other two parts adding further colour and accompaniment.

Had a listen over on SoundCloud and really liked the baroque feel you got in your arrangement, Andrew.

Thank you. I enjoyed listening to that. It reminded me that there is a really, really good reason to learn standard notation, and that I really, really ought to pull out Debra Chen's Std. Not. book and pay attention. I have a bunch of McGann's materials, too, but somehow putting them under my pillow doesn't make the skills appear in either head or hands.

Just to say how much I have enjoyed playing along with your soundcloud recording, and to thank you for the mando staff and full score. Are the other three parts (i.e. M2, G1 and G2) also available as separate files, or are they just contained within the full 7-page score? Thanks.

We've been playing Andy's nice arrangement of these minuets for a couple of months now, and it's a very popular piece with everybody in our ensemble.

I've now got around to recording it at home, although I have to admit I can't play the guitar arpeggios in Andy's "Guitar 2" part at that speed -- they are played at 240 notes a minute and don't sit nicely on tenor guitar/mandola in GDAE (may sit better on an actual guitar, but I don't play guitar). So, I've replaced the arpeggios with a strummed 3/4 rhythm over Andy's chord changes -- apologies to Andy for taking liberties with his arrangement.

I attach an MP3 of my recording, and have uploaded it on Youtube:
