Default New Tim O'Brien and Darrell Scott live album

I just got an email from No Depression with this link:

Anyone know anymore about this? There's bound to be some top-class mandolin family grooves on this one over and above the great singing & songs.

Ooh - that'll have to go on my list. Their double album Real Time is really a fantastic recording!

Anyone who has access to Spotify can also listen to it there. I'm a Tim O'Brien fan but am not too familiar with Darrell Scott. I listened to it a couple times back to back this past weekend and like it a lot.

Just checked it out on iTunes. Sounds like nicely spirited performances. The sound quality is not perfect but it's good. Some material from Real Time and others from solo repertoire.

I have heard a half dozen of the tracks, the local community radio has it. I like it a lot, some great takes.

I had a chance to hear Darrell live, so I went. I knew him more as a song writer (and a top notch one!), but had never really listened to him. I wasn't prepared for how good he was playing live! The potential is there for this to be a great live album...

A small, outdoor concert I saw years ago at Oglebay Park in Wheeling, WV with Tim and Darrell went a long way towards really hooking me on quality acoustic music... it was one of the best shows i've ever seen... they are brilliant together. (Tim seems to bring that out in many, many people)

At the time, they would always do a 'Hank du jour' segment... that day they did a medley of 'House of Gold' and 'Weary Blues'.

An added bonus was Mollie O'Brien opening with a sidewoman (forget the name).
